Andrea Bertanzon talks about his passion for the viola. We actually met Andrea in Italy when he brought his viola in for a small modification to perfect his instrument and after hearing him play we immediately agreed to record a Session with him. Andrea Bertanzon
Andrea Bertanzon, born in Verona Italy, was in 2015 first prizewinner at the Mirabello International Competition. He studied at the Conservatorium “G.B. Martini” in Bologna under the guidance of Antonello Farulli with whom he also attended many master courses in Fiesole (Scuola di Musica di Fiesole), Imola (Accademia Pianistica di Imola), Lucca, Verona and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In Bologna Andrea Bertanzon received his Bachelor degree with the highest mark and he obtained also the LRSM/ABRS Diploma (Associated Boards of Royal School of Music ­ UK) with “Distinction”. Thereafter he studied with Yulia Berinskaya at the Milano Music Masterschool and with Danilo Rossi (first viola of “La Scala” orchestra) at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano.
